In the first irresistable sports romance in the Out of Bounds series, the only way to win is to score… With a reputation for fast moves on the gridiron and even faster moves off the field, Shane Devlin was a player in every sense of the word. Unfortunately, his bad-boy persona has made him a risky prospect as a quarterback, and only the Baltimore Blaze are willing to give him a chance. And he’s about to take a hit he never expected. Working for the Blaze, Carly March knows too well how jocks think—and what they think with—so she’s always made a point of keeping them at arm’s length. But when she shares a kiss with the devilishly handsome Shane, she finds it hard to play by her own rules—and even harder to resist him. Can a football hero and a business-minded beauty take it all the way? Or will their mutual attraction cost them the big game?

Life is a lot like sports, as author Dr. Donna Dannenfelser will attest to in her book about how she left a world behind to go after a dream. A dream that many told her was impossible. She began her journey as a young mother of three on Long Island, without any money and a psychology degree that she couldn't do anything with, and wound up as the mental health clinician to the NY Jets. This led to her creating the hit TV series, "Necessary Roughness" in 2011," which was based on her life, accomplishing this without an agent or a manager. Many have asked her how she did it. Dr. Donna takes you on her journey as she describes the ten things she learned along the way and how she has now turned them into 10 core beliefs that anyone can use to achieve their goals. "Dreams do come true if you believe," is her mantra. "Changing your thoughts will change your life" is her truth. This book chronicles Dr. Donna's path, her struggles and disappointments, along with her successes and synchronistic happenings that presented themselves at just the right moments. Combining that with the belief she had in herself, the people she put on her team, and her intense desire to follow the road less traveled, she not only achieved her goals, she is able to leave the world just a little bit better than she found it by empowering others to live their best lives and not settle for anything other than their personal greatness. If you're looking for permission to break out of a situation that you can no longer tolerate, or you seem unfulfilled with what you're doing and have been disappointed by life in general, the 10 core beliefs in this book and the events that led to the acknowledgment of them can help you. You are never too young, nor too old, nor too poor, nor too challenged to make changes in your life and go after a dream. Game On!: What I Learned During My Time As The Shrink To The NY Jets, will reveal how to figure out what makes you happy, along with the process for making it happen. In Donna's words, "If I can do it, anybody can do it. Now let's get started!"

A first-of-its-kind investigative book on the least examined and most important topic in sports today. Youth sports isn't just orange slices and all-star trophies anymore. It's 14-year-olds who enter high school with a decade of football experience, 9-year-olds competing for national baseball championships, 5-year-old golfers who shoot par, and toddlers made from sperm donated (for a fee) by elite college athletes. It's a year-round "travel team" in every community--and parents who fear that not making the cut in grade school will cost their kid the chance to play in high school. In short, a landscape in which performance often matters more than participation, all the way down to peewee basketball. Much as Fast Food Nation challenged our eating habits and Silent Spring rewired how we think about the environment, Tom Farrey's Game On will forever change the way we look at this desperate culture besotted by the example of Tiger Woods. An Emmy award-winning reporter, Farrey examines the lives of child athletes and the consequences of sorting the strong from the weak at ever earlier ages: fewer active kids, testier sidelines, rising obesity rates, and U.S. national teams that rarely win world titles. He dives into the world of these games that are played by more than 30 million boys and girls, and along the way uncovers some surprising truths. When the very best athletes enter organized play. The best approach to coaching them. And the powerful influence of wealth and genetics. Farrey has written a surprising, alarming, thoughtful, and ultimately empowering book for anyone who wants the best for the newest generation of Americans, as athletes and citizens. From the Hardcover edition.
